Skousen Investor Cafe: Obama’s Private Nickname Revealed…
My wife and I attended a reception last week honoring Edward Klein, the author of the #1 New York Times bestseller, “The Amateur.” The veteran journalist interviewed more than 200 insiders in the White House to find out what kind of man President Barack Obama really is.
Klein, an insider himself as former editor-in-chief of The New York Times magazine, does not suggest by the title of his book that Obama is an amateur when it comes to running for office. As a candidate, he’s a professional and will not be beaten easily in November.
No, by “amateur,” Klein means how poorly Obama manages the office of the most powerful position in the world. Obama is a terrible and inexperienced manager, Klein wrote. Obama has blundered repeatedly in foreign and domestic policy. Klein goes into numerous examples in the book.
One of the best parts of the book for me was Obama’s private meeting with eight eminent American historians, including Robert Caro, David Brinkley, Garry Wills and H.W. Brands. According to an insider in the meeting, Obama wants to go down in history as a revolutionary president — the man who transformed America into a European democratic-socialist state! ObamaCare was just the beginning… Wait until you see what he has in store for us in the next four years. If Congress doesn’t go along, he will use executive orders. It’s scary.
Obama doesn’t see himself so much as Lyndon Johnson (LBJ), Ronald Reagan, or even Franklin Roosevelt (FDR), but as a Woodrow Wilson, as “little short of messianic.”
In fact, David Axelrod privately calls Obama by the nickname “Black Jesus.”

You Blew It: Can the Miami Heat Win the NBA Finals?
I’m an avid sports fan who loves to watch, as well as to play, basketball, softball, tennis and even a little golf (a good walk spoiled).
Right now, the National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals are going on between the Miami Heat and the Oklahoma Thunder. The Thunder is an exciting team to watch, and its fans are great.
Lebron James, who moved from Cleveland to Miami two years ago, continues his quest to win his predicted “multiple” championship rings in the NBA. He’s helped the Miami Heat reach the finals two years in a row, but can he become a true champion?
Pride precedes the fall, as Proverbs tells us. As Michael Jordan learned, the world’s greatest athlete can’t win a championship without being a team player. We will see if “King James” has the wherewithal to be a true champion. He won’t achieve that lofty goal if “give-me-the-ball” Lebron tries to do it alone.
Recently, I watched the 1997 and 1998 NBA finals between the Utah Jazz and the Chicago Bulls. The Jazz were my favorite team, led by the unselfish duo of John Stockton and Karl Malone. But they lost to the Chicago Bulls under the magnificent performance of Michael Jordan, who learned to be a team player, and their coach Phil Jackson. Unfortunately, the Jazz had a coach, Jerry Sloan, who was great during the regular season but didn’t have the fire in the belly to be aggressive and win in the playoffs. Sadly, Stockton and Malone, both excellent team players, never got a ring, and that’s a pity.
